Now I realize I'm just promoting another web browser, but here it goes...
I've downloaded flock which is really just a modification of the Firefox browser that adds a bunch of useful stuff--like auto blogging from within the browser (which is how I'm writing this now), integrated mapping, and some other nice features. What was impressive was that it automatically detected what kind of blog I have and automatically asked for username/password and logged me in to add/modify posts. What bugs me are two things:
- They received a bunch of funding from fairly good VCs to build yet-another-web-browser.
- They could have added much of their functionality as extensions to Firefox instead of creating a new browser.
- I can't assign 'categories' to my blog posts like I can do within Moveable Type.
